Dr. Mary Lynn Rapier maintains a highly successful private clinical practice in Santa Monica, CA, specializing in Substance Abuse, Trauma and the Treatment of PTSD, Panic Disorder, Relationship Dynamics,  Organizational Systems and Executive Coaching, and Forensic Psychology.

Seeing the need for innovative programs offering drug intervention and outpatient services designed for individuals and families struggling with addiction, chemical dependency, or co-occurring disorders, Dr. Rapier has consulted for leading recovery facilities in California as well as for The Meadows in Arizona.   Dr. Rapier specializes in revitalizing existing models and developing new cutting edge programming in order to bring patients the latest science-based treatment protocol, including her signature Sport in Recovery Track.  Her entrepreneurial vision, track record, and over 45,000 individual clinical hours of experience makes her uniquely qualified as one of the leading practitioners in the field.  She excels in expansion and new business development.  Additionally, she works with disciplinary teams to ensure quality care and implements appropriate clinical policies, procedures and programs.  She supports and directs facility administration regarding staff management, quality assurance activities, and education and training.  She regularly supervises interns preparing for licensure with the California Board of Psychology and the Board of Behavioral Sciences.  

As a consultant to Global Solutions Consulting, specializing in legal needs for corporate, private, and public sectors,  Dr. Rapier has developed a relationship between psychology and the courts.  As a strategist, she supports the legal team and client with diagnostic considerations, declarations, jury decision making, risk assessment, and competencies.  

As a trauma expert,  Dr. Rapier has been a provider for the Victim Witness Assistance Program and Victim of Violent Crime, State of California and Texas.   In the field of executive wellness, she has been the consultant to the President of the Waitley Institute, specializing in the field of high performance human behavior, leadership, and behavior modification.   Dr. Rapier transitioned into the field of psychology in 2000.  Prior to that she founded and managed 3 businesses, all successfully sold for profit.  

Dr. Rapier attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA on a full academic scholarship and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, before going on to get her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Concentration in Organizational Systems Inquiry from Saybrook University in San Francisco, CA.  

Dr. Rapier obtained an additional Masters in Law, Society, and Criminology from UC Irvine.  She achieved the highest honors at graduation winning both the Academic Award of Excellence and the 2015 Stephen M. Rosoff Distinguished Research Award.  This added degree in combination with her Clinical Ph.D. and current experience with the court system makes her uniquely qualified as a Forensic Psychologist.
